Slide your finger to aim, lift it to drop the friend into the bowl. When two matching friends touch, they hug and turn into the next friend up the chain. In Classic and Daily, keep the pile below the dashed line at the top of the bowl; if friends sit above it for a few seconds the round ends and you can play again straight away.

Blueberry, Cherry, Strawberry, Lime, Plum, Orange, Apple, Peach, Pineapple, Melon, Watermelon. Only the first five are ever dropped; the rest you grow by merging. Two Watermelons meeting is a Grand finale worth 120 points. Every other set (Sweet Treats, Ocean Pals, Cosmic Buddies, Garden Blooms, Cozy Critters) has eleven friends in the same sizes.

Zen never ends. When the bowl gets full, the three highest friends float gently out of the bowl to make room, and you keep playing. Tap Pause and then Finish round whenever you want to bank your score and hearts.

Every player gets the same order of friends on the same day, so everyone in the family can compare scores. Playing on consecutive days builds a streak, which earns the Three Days and Full Week stickers.

One star for any round, two if you grew an Apple or bigger, three if you grew a Melon or a Watermelon (or the same level in another set).

Every round pays hearts: one for every ten points, plus a bonus for the biggest friend you grew. Spend them in Dress up on new friend sets, scenes and bowls. Nothing in the game can be bought with real money.

Little achievements such as First Hug, Combo Comet, Zen Master and Completionist. There are 21. Open Stickers from the Home screen to see them and your play statistics.

Your ten best rounds across all modes, kept on this device only. When a round ends with a score good enough for the list, the game asks whether you want to save it with a name. Saving is optional. Open the list from the Friend book.

Open Settings from the Home screen, or use the Sounds and Music toggles on the Pause screen. Settings are remembered.

On iPhone, check the ring/silent switch on the side of the phone: Fruit Hugs respects it, like most games. Also check the volume and that Sounds and Music are switched on in the game.

Turn on Calm motion in Settings: no shaking, fewer sparkles and no confetti. Fruit Hugs also follows your phone's Reduce Motion accessibility setting automatically.

Turn on Bigger text in Settings. For left-handed children, Left-handed swaps the pause button and the Next preview.

Tap the pause button at the top. On Android, the back button also pauses. The game pauses by itself if you switch apps or get a call.

No. The game has no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and the game itself never connects to the internet. The only things saved are your progress and settings, on the device. See the privacy policy.

Open Settings and tap Reset all progress; the game asks you to confirm. That removes hearts, unlocks, stickers, the Friend book, Top hugs and settings. Uninstalling the app does the same.

Not at the moment. Progress lives only on the device, which is also why nothing about you is ever stored anywhere else.

iPhone and iPad: Fruit Hugs is a one-time purchase on the App Store. You pay once and everything is included: every mode, all six friend sets, every scene and bowl. There are no in-app purchases.

Android: Fruit Hugs is free on Google Play. Fruit Friends, all three modes, every scene and every bowl are free. The Friend Pack (Sweet Treats, Ocean Pals, Cosmic Buddies, Garden Blooms and Cozy Critters) is an optional one-time purchase.

On iPhone and iPad, no. On Android there is exactly one thing: the Friend Pack, a one-time purchase that unlocks five more friend sets forever. There are no subscriptions, no ads, no coins to buy and no repeat purchases. Scenes and bowls are unlocked with hearts earned by playing on both platforms.

Before any purchase, Fruit Hugs shows a grown-ups check: a multiplication question that has to be typed in. Google Play then asks for its own confirmation, and you can also require your password for every purchase in the Google Play app under Settings > Authentication.

Sign in to the same Google account on the new phone, install Fruit Hugs from Google Play, then open Settings in the game and tap Restore Friend Pack.

Purchases are handled by Apple and Google, so refunds go through them. On iPhone and iPad use reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android use the Google Play order history at play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory.
