1. What we do not do
- We do not collect personal information of any kind, from children or adults.
- The game does not use the internet. It works fully offline. On Android, the Google Play Billing library included for the optional Friend Pack declares network permissions so it can talk to Google Play; it is only used when you choose to buy or restore the Friend Pack.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, tracking or advertising identifiers.
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising software.
- We do not offer accounts, logins, sign-ups or social features.
- We do not sell or share any data, because we have none.
- We do not contain links to outside websites. The iPhone and iPad version has no in-app purchases; the Android version has one optional, one-time purchase (the Friend Pack) behind a grown-ups check.
2. What is stored on your device
Fruit Hugs keeps a small amount of game data in the app's own private storage on your phone or tablet:
- Your best scores and your local Top hugs list
- Which friends you have discovered in each set, for the Friend book
- Hearts earned and spent, and which friend sets, scenes and bowls you have unlocked
- Stickers earned, play statistics and your Daily Bowl streak
- Whether you have finished the tutorial
- Your settings: sound, music, haptics, aim guide, calm motion, left-handed layout, bigger text
This data never leaves the device and is not linked to you in any way. Deleting the app removes it completely.
3. Names in the Top hugs list
After a game, a player can choose to save their score with a name. That name is only ever stored on the device, alongside the score, so it can be shown in the app's own Top hugs list. It is never sent anywhere, and it is deleted when the app is uninstalled. Any word can be typed; it does not need to be a real name.
Buying the app and the Friend Pack
On the App Store, Fruit Hugs is a one-time purchase. On Google Play it is free, and the optional Friend Pack is a one-time in-app purchase made through Google Play Billing. Every payment is processed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We do not receive your name, email address, payment card or any other payment information; we only see anonymous sales totals in the stores' developer reports. To remember that you own the Friend Pack, the game asks Google Play on your device and keeps a simple "owned" flag in its own storage. Nothing is sent to us.
4. Children's privacy
Fruit Hugs is designed for children aged 4 to 8. Because the app collects no data at all, it complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States, the GDPR and its rules for children (GDPR-K) in the European Union and United Kingdom, and the Google Play Families policy. No parental consent is needed because no data is collected.
5. Third-party software
The game is packaged with Capacitor, an open-source framework that lets a web game run as a native app. Capacitor makes no network calls in Fruit Hugs and collects no data. On Android, Google's Play Billing library is included for the Friend Pack; it communicates only with Google Play, only when you buy or restore the pack. The Fredoka typeface is bundled inside the app under the SIL Open Font License; it is not loaded from the internet.
6. Your rights
Because Fruit Hugs never sends data to a server, there is no database from which to retrieve, correct or delete your information. Your data lives on your device, under your control. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it saved.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Because the game does not use the internet, a change would only ever come with an app update you choose to install.
